ARRIVAL AND CHECK-IN PROCEDURES Reminder: The technical program begins at 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 10, and concludes at lunchtime on Wednesday, June 13. Getting to Carnegie Mellon UniversityFor on-line maps, driving directions and information about taxi and public bus service, please refer to the Travel Information section of the Symposium website. If you arrive by taxi, tell the driver to take you to the Carnegie Mellon University Center, 5000 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh. If you arrive by public bus (PAT = “Port Authority Transit”) from the Pittsburgh International Airport, route 28X, you will get off the bus at its final stop, the corner of Forbes Avenue and Morewood Avenue. Cross Forbes Avenue and walk to the University Center, the large building that is diagonally across a lawn to your left. If you drive, you may park temporarily in the University Center parking lot while you register. Regular Check-In Times and Locations
*Symposium ends at lunch on Wednesday. Housing Assignments and Keys When you arrive at Carnegie Mellon, proceed directly to the registration desk in the University Center. If you requested on-campus housing, you will be given your keys and directed to your assigned room by the registration desk staff. After-Hours ArrivalsIf you arrive at any time outside the regular check-in times, please call the After-Hours Hotline at (412) 268-4101 for instructions. You may also proceed directly to the Doherty Apartments, 5085 Forbes Avenue. There is a telephone outside the door that you can use to call the hotline when you arrive so that a staff member may meet you.
